Xerox or Okidata? Toner Cartridges’ Companies Compared

Companies use all sorts of schemes to win over their potential customers. Some companies use discounts and deals to reel in new buyers. Other companies rely on catchy phrases or jingles to hook their audience. However, companies have no control over the subjective likeness of the world and its inhabitants. Some people will like a particular company for an arbitrary reason, like perhaps the sound of their name.

Someone may prefer the company name Xerox to Okidata toner cartridges and printer quality are not the objects in question here. For this person, it is merely that the name Xerox has a preferable sound that is liked. While this may seem like an arbitrary thing to base a purchase on, people still do it all of the time. Many may agree that Xerox sounds like something harsh and abrasive, and Okidata might have an advantage in the opposite case as well. Toner cartridges’ performance can be no match for a cuteness preference. While someone may know very little about Okidata toner cartridges, the company’s name still can have appeal. This proves that sometimes, all it comes down to with winning over customers is not necessarily the quality of the product or price of the product, but something as fickle as the customer’s preference.

Sometimes customers will choose a particular company over the others for a reason that has absolutely nothing to do with the success or quality of their products. Someone may choose a company for a simple fact that their printer cartridge is wrapped in black wrapping instead of white, or the neatness in which the product is presented.

It is important to remember that while these little nuances may be the deciding factor that connects a customer to a company, a company that is a failure in its production will never win over the likeness of its audience, no matter how cute a logo may be or melodious its jingle.
